Uncomfortable showing emotions

  I suspect a lot of us men will relate to this (without sounding sexist I believe it is predominantly a man thing). We were always told “Real Men don’t show emotion” and “Keep a stiff upper lip” We often equate showing emotion to weakness. Maybe it goes back to our caveman survival instincts - face down the wolf rather than showing fear which may make it attack. Luckily we don’t have to face many wolves nowadays, so perhaps we should let our feelings out!

Seeking Calm

  Calming the mind for even a few minutes helps us to escape from the hustle and bustle of the chaotic world that surrounds us. I chose this quote because it helps me recognise the link between how I feel, and how that affects my general health. Finding your inner peace - whatever that may mean to you - is increasingly important. When your mind is calm, you are free from your everyday worries and problems. How you reach your calm place can be very simple: It might be a walk in the fresh air, a bike ride or just playing your favourite relaxing music (mine is Pink Floyd) through headphones. Aim to block out noisy distractions, relax, breathe slowly, and simply reflect. Your everyday problems might not seem so important. Once you are calm inside, you can see your way forward more clearly.

Feeling Lost

Feeling lost, confused, and overwhelmed is a natural part of the human experience. It's easy to feel this way with all of life's challenges. In fact, seeing it from a positive perspective, feeling lost can be a sign of personal evolution, indicating growth in your mind and spirit. This disconnect isn't just from yourself, but can also extend to your friends, family, and even the things you once enjoyed. You might have known exactly what you wanted a few years ago, but now you feel frustrated and confused because your life hasn't turned out as you'd hoped. As a result, you might struggle to find your purpose or a clear direction for your life. When you're feeling lost and unsure of your next step, this quote from          J.R.R. Tolkien might resonate: the quote is from The Lord of the Rings, probably my all - time favourite book, one which I read again and again. ...
